Introduction
This is a recent image of Cold Harbor Battlefield. The Battle took place in 1864 in Virginia right outside of Richmond. Today there are houses built on the land, one of which I live in. The picture above is actually the land right beside my property. My grandfather has owned a farm in cold harbor for fifty years and had to level many trenches to allow himself to farm. Also my parents had to level trenches to build our home. While cutting down trees to build my house my parents found bullets and many other artifacts from the civil war, which are now in a case in my grandparents living room. My siblings and I used to play in the trenches and cannon bunkers, which were dug by the confederate army, around our house. The battle of cold harbor was one of the most bloody battles, thousands were killed and more were wounded.
